COSMELAN PEEL GOLD COAST

Cosmelan Depigmentation Treatment is a type of chemical peel used to reduce unwanted pigmentation in the skin. It consists of two different types of product applications: a mask applied by a physician and a cream applied at home. It is usable on a variety of skin locations, including the face, neck, hands, and legs, and it is effective at combating hyper-pigmentation, melasma, (pregnancy mask), acne scarring, and other discolouration of the skin.

Cosmelan works by inhibiting melanin production. Melanin is responsible for the dark pigmentation seen on the skin. The body produces it as a response to UV exposure, but hormones, ageing, and acne may also trigger it. By inhibiting a specific type of enzyme (tyrosinase) that is directly involved in the production of melanin, Cosmelan can reduce melanin production and the discolouration it causes in the skin.

Treatment details

The two-phase intensive treatment program firstly involves the application of a highly potent de-pigmenting mask. This is applied at the clinic and it is not washed off for up to 8-10 hours following application (dependent on skin type). The second treatment phase is at-home maintenance creams that should be applied twice daily to enhance the effects of the mask.

Two to three days after the treatment is applied, the skin will begin to flake and peel. For these first few days, the face may feel tight, itchy and be slightly red.

Our Cosmelan Depigmenting Facial Package includes 2 x LED Healite Sessions.

The Cosmelan Depigmenting Facial Package includes a one-time in-clinic peel and 8 weeks worth of homecare products. Clients will need to continue on the recommended home care for a total of 6 months then continue using a tyrosinase inhibiting homecare regime ongoing after this to prevent the return of the pigmentation. Your therapist will educate you further throughout the process of your package.

As long as maintenance skincare is continued, the results from a Cosmelan treatment can last for years or be permanent.
